Community Power and Lee’s Place were honoured to attend the recent Mayor Making Ceremony in Hereford for the installation of the 645th Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Cat Hornsey. The evening was a wonderful celebration of community, connection, and civic pride, bringing together people from across the city to mark the beginning of the Mayor’s year in office.

We are incredibly proud and grateful that Lee’s Place has been chosen as one of the Mayor’s charities for the coming year, alongside Dirty Feet. To be recognised in this way means a great deal to everyone involved with Community Power and Lee’s Place, and highlights the importance of supporting vulnerable people within our community.

Lee’s Place works every day to provide a safe, welcoming environment for people experiencing homelessness in Hereford, offering food, practical support, and pathways towards stability and independence. Being selected as one of the Mayor’s chosen charities will help raise awareness of the growing need for this support and create valuable opportunities to strengthen community involvement throughout the year ahead.

We are very much looking forward to working closely with Mayor Cat Hornsey during her term of office, as well as collaborating with Dirty Feet, to make a positive difference across Hereford. We would like to thank the Mayor for her support and kindness and congratulate her once again on her appointment.

We are excited for the year ahead and the opportunities it will bring to work together, support our community, and continue making a lasting impact and really appreciate that the new Hereford Mayor will support Lee’s Place in this way.
