Empowering local people to make a healthy difference in their communities
Our Community Health Champion Framework is all about supporting local people to make a real difference where they live. We give Champions the tools, confidence, and know-how to help others live healthier, happier lives.
Community Health Champions are everyday people who care about their neighbours and want to make their community a better place to live. Through our free training, they learn about key health and wellbeing topics, local services, and how to guide others to the right support when they need it most.
Champions don’t replace professionals — they bridge the gap. By sharing trusted information, encouraging small positive changes, and connecting people to local support, they help create stronger, more connected, and healthier communities.
Together, we’re building a network of local Champions who make health everyone’s business — one conversation, one connection, and one community at a time.

Community Cancer Champions
Our Community Cancer Champions are local volunteers based across Herefordshire and Worcestershire who help people learn about cancer in a simple, friendly way. They share easy‑to‑understand information about staying healthy, spotting signs early, and getting help when it’s needed. Champions are not health experts, they are everyday people who care about their community.
