Courage, laughter and one unforgettable day at Swansea Airport. What an incredible day!
On Saturday 13th June, 14 amazing supporters travelled to Swansea Airport to take on one of the biggest challenges of their lives – a tandem skydive in aid of Lee's Place.
From the moment everyone arrived, there was a real buzz of excitement. There were plenty of smiles, a few nervous faces, lots of laughter and an overwhelming sense of teamwork as our brave fundraisers completed their safety briefing and training before preparing to take to the skies.
Then came the moment of truth…
One by one, our fearless teams – The Lee's Place Leapers, The Flying Chickens and The Happy Jumpers – boarded the aircraft and soared thousands of feet into the air before making the leap of a lifetime.
Watching each parachute appear in the sky and safely glide back to earth was an unforgettable experience, and every single jumper landed with huge smiles, incredible stories and an enormous sense of achievement.
More than just a skydive
While the adrenaline rush was unforgettable, the day was about so much more than jumping from a plane.
Every leap was taken to raise vital funds for Lee's Place and to help us continue supporting people experiencing homelessness with warmth, compassion, practical help and hope for the future.
Our 14 incredible skydivers have shown extraordinary courage, generosity and commitment, and we couldn't be prouder of every one of them.
Thank you!
A huge thank you goes to:
- Our amazing skydivers for taking on this incredible challenge.
- Everyone who has sponsored and donated so generously.
- Friends, families and supporters who came along to Swansea Airport to cheer everyone on.
- Everyone who shared our posts, sent messages of encouragement or simply wished our jumpers good luck.
Every message, every cheer and every donation helped make the day even more special.
There's still time to support the challenge
Although the skydivers have completed their incredible leap, our fundraising isn't over just yet.
We're keeping our fundraising page open for a little while longer, so if you've been meaning to make a donation, there's still time to help.
Every pound raised will help Lee's Place continue providing life-changing support to our homeless guests, offering safety, dignity and hope when it's needed most.
From all of us at Lee's Place, thank you for helping make this challenge such an incredible success.
Together, we've proved that when a community comes together, amazing things really can happen.
